Congratulations 105dB are a great efficiency to use a sweet small tube amp However for less cost I would have pickup the Frugal Horn new version for larger drivers which I cant remember the name, made by Scottmoose to Dave Planet10.
Which driver did you get? What power amp will you be running?
So I hit a few snags. First one was getting the speakers downstairs into the audio room. Second one was the faceplate adaptors weren’t quite correct so Brian is giving it a second go. I’ll be waiting to build the system until I receive them. Third, the amps that I purchased were damaged in transit. Just cosmetic and I verified that they both work. Here’s some photos of the cabinets. For the drivers Brian gave me some Lii-Song Chinese drivers to get me up and running. I am searching high and low to find some Voxativ AC-2.6 drivers. That’s my end goal. Though I know the AER BD-3 drivers are the best. The price on them is out of reach for me. Driver:The amps I purchased are the ANK Monoblock Interstage 300B amps. Here are some photos. I also have some gear that Tyson was kind enough to let me borrow. His Japanese 300B/2A3 amp that uses Lundahl transformers. And his mgalusha designed preamp that uses some sort of laser controlled volume control… I don’t quite understand what it does or how it works. I also have my SimpleSE Tubelabs amps that I put together over a decade ago now. So I have plenty of options for amplifiers! I will cannibalize my headphone rig for the rest of the front end. My Holo May DAC, Auralic Aires G2.1 and my PS Audio P10 power regenerator will all come along for the ride.
Wow, Jason! Beautiful.I think it was two years ago that I joked about buying a house in your neighborhood. We're tentatively planning on selling our Oregon home next Spring, so I'll start looking in your area soon. Just kidding. We're really going to sell, but we will move back to Taiwan in order to help care for/be closer to my wife's aging/ailing parents. I'll have to unload my excess audio gear to facilitate the move. Enjoy!
Really a huge Speaker
