This is a short video from the BBC Archive. It is really fun to watch!

Fun video, slightly tongue in cheek. I noticed that when our local audio club has meetings at different members homes not much has changed in 66 years.

"Religion or a disease" indeed. My inoculation obviously failed.

The section depicting the conversion of vinyl into an LP conjured up images of "The Blob" and "The Fly".

Lots of women and smokes.

IMO the room is still the most ignored "component".

Thanks Mary for the post.  The scene in the electronics store reminds me of the few times I went with my dad to the HeathKit store.  He was an EE and built our tube amp, preamp, tuner and speakers.  And then barely used it.  I used it more than my parents.  I loved its lush warm sound with rolled off highs.  It is probably why I like a warmer sound today, minus the rolled highs.
