Also I have rew set up on my computer with my UMIk1 that has a calibration file already. Can I just use that for my measurements? And send you that file,? And do I need to wait to download Audio Weaver on my computer? Do I get a license in the box? And which version of AW do I need? Sorry again for all the questions. I just want to make sure I am going to be doing this right.

Yes, you can use the REW setup on your Windows PC system for measurements.  I will need the files created when done with both speaker measurements via email.  You can once the dspNexus XMOS device driver is loaded use it as the test system with REW and your UMIK-1 as well.

The Audio Weaver license is part of the purchase of the dspNexus system.  After purchase, the email address you want to use is setup for you to login to DSP Concepts to activate your system license.   Danville Signal will email you a Dropbox link to the version of Audio Weaver needed to run your dspNexus.

Audio Weaver runs on Windows PC's with a USB connection, the speed depends on the CPU.

Well guys I am the one that just bought one of these to go  with the Orchard Audio Ultra modules. I plan to document my journey on here. I am a complete moron so if I can do it anyone can. I am both excited and a bit nervous because I do blow up a lot of stuff. Lol. Oh well I can't wait to get started. And my moto is good enough is not good enough. So I will be taxing this thing and my speakers.

Well folks I have taken advantage of the great opportunity to purchase this. And all I can say is it is the best decision I have made in my life when it comes to audio. I have SB Acoustics Sasandu Textreme's with 6 ultra modules with the DSP Nexus as my DSP crossover, DAC, and Preamp for audio. It has been more work but the reward is so awesome. I can't believe how good it sounds. I was using an Anthem AVM90 processor and a Sublime Acoustics analog active crossover. I have sold the AVM90 and bought an Emotiva XMC2 for my surround duty it is going analog in to the Nexus. I have just went through the setup with Richard Hollis and it was a delight. I am as illiterate as they come about this stuff but with Rich's guidance I have learned so much already. And I want to learn so much more. I would like to learn how to do it all myself. But for the beginner it is really fairly easy. But you need to want to get your hands dirty. I am still learning. But it is so enjoyable. Anyway thank you Leo and Richard Hollis and Al Clark of Danville Signal for this great opportunity.  It is even better than expected by a large mile.

Glad to hear you have it up and running.
More importantly, its everything you had hoped for and its not disappointing.

I have heard the demos at Axpona the last what 3-4yrs now and the A-B has never been questioned

Its pretty amazing how many people still think DACs today still sound like the ones from the early 2000's  Newer dacs just blow away the older stuff

I cant wait(but will have to) to get my Nexus up and running on my Apogee Dueta Sigs

Yes pretty much all the newer Dacs starting in about 2015 or later all sound pretty good to me. Some better than others. But at least tolerable. Before that I couldn't find one that I liked. I actually hated them all.

Glad you got such a great result. I have the Starkrimson Ultra from Leo and Rich has always been very helpful 👍

I agree that DACs and ADCs have gotten better the last few years. The dspNexus has modules for DACs, ADC and DSP, so that it is upgradable as technology marches on.

I think I designed about 6 different DAC modules during the dspNexus development and we have produced two in production. There were a similar number of ADC modules used in both dspMusik and dspNexus.
The ADC & DAC parts you start with certainly matter, but the supporting cast does as well. Most designs are just the manufacturer's reference design wrapped in a shiny box. This can give you good results but I think you can do better.

The current versions are our best and I think they stand up well against typical stereo DAC offerings.

Ok but I don't have passive cross overs in my speakers. So I would need something to protect my tweeters from full range sound correct? Do you have some safeguards in it to protect that?
Thanks for asking this along with other great questions.

For your speakers, no passive crossover is needed as the dspNexus 2/8 will be the bandwidth limiting system for the drivers for protection. The limited bandwidth goes to each driver in the speaker as in your Active crossover.
Yes, I too was worried about this, for the sake of my drivers but infinitely more for my EARs! https://www.grainger.com/product/3M-PELTOR-Ear-Muffs-Over-the-Head-Earmuff-21DE18?opr=PDPRRDSP&analytics=dsrrItems_1C139

The DAC section of this will compare very favorably to those Dacs. I am not HAL however. 😂. But none of those Dacs will do all that the Nexus will do. I am controlling everything going to my main speakers drivers with this. None of those will do that. But I have heard the May and I owned the Spring2 Kitsune edition and this is leagues better sounding. I haven't heard a Yiggy however. Probably heard an Okto at Axpona a few times possibly not. I like this way better than my PS Audio Direct Stream DAC that I used to own. Funny I never really liked that for some odd reason.
I know I'm no expert so these are just my opinions.
