I realize this is an older thread. I just wanted to say those are beautiful speakers My Omega SAM-HO and Rythmic mid-woofer combo is still my daily driver after six years. Such stability makes new conversation sparse!
Not to be a stick in the mud and maybe I missed it, but I'm still waiting for any comments on the 2-way Dyna 10. Just a single cap xover and 91 db efficiency would seem to make it a solid winner. But
pstrisik, it seems that Focus Fidelity would really help my room & system, but I am not strong with computers. Based on your experience, is this software appropriate for someone with average computer skills?
The site say only 90dB/8Ω what will need 100W Solid State.Iam in the FR game because the cross-overless feature, so to me a sole cap or resistor in not a upgrade or desirable IMO.But certainly is a great upgrade for those audiophiles coming from a commercial two way speakers with a regular cross-over.Said it, the Dyna 8XRS is way more convenient to small amps at 98dB and yet have the benefit of single point source, no Tweeter and less price.Junior 8XRS SpecificationsSensitivity: 98 dB at 8 ohmsImpedance: 8 ohmsDriver: Proprietary Omega RS8 Full-Range with ferrite magnetFrequency Response: 38-20kHzDimensions: 38"H x 12"W x 7"DWeight: 35 lbs. each in a shipping boxPower Requirements: as little as 2 wattsCrossover: NoneIf you have not bought yet the Dyna 10, I would recommend the Dyna 8, unless you have 100W and prefer the 10'' woofer IMO.
I wasn't in the market, but I'm curious as to what this speaker has to offer. Seems it would be quite a hit as it's apparently a modern clone of the extremely popular Dynaco A25. Sorry, but there's been many successful 2-way designs with one element xovers. Think Epos, Reference 3A and Zu to name a few. Plus I doubt one would really need 100 solid state watts to drive a 90db 2-way with the simplest of xovers.
