I have this pair of vintage Philips speakers that are free to me.
I looked them up and they are circa 1969.
I managed to get the back off one of them. I unscrewed it then had to use force to break the seal.
The photos are what I found inside.
The speaker cord is wired directly to the crossover.
I could not remove the 10” driver, it is hard sealed to the baffle.
I could remove the smaller drivers but the white plastic domes are hard sealed to the driver frames.
The front grill does not want to come off.
They are quite heavy, the baffle is 1” thick.
Everything seems to be intact although I have not hooked them up.
My question is; assuming they play what would you do with them?
I’m thinking of adding binding posts and new wire to the crossover.
The cross over could also be reworked but I have no idea where to start on that.
