I have always lusted after Professor Loof Lirpa's first product, the Lirpa 1, Mark 1 receiver. This forward thinking receiver has everything an audiophile would ever need or desire (and some things an audiophile would never need or desire) which makes it a perfect fit for everyone. The receiver has a classic tube sound with innovative tone controls that lets the user adjust the sound to their preference, not the designer's or recording artist. The Glassy, Brittle and Hot push buttons would finally make my Windham Hill album collection listenable.

As I get older and looking forward to simplifying my electronics, the Lirpa 1 receiver is on my "must have" list.

The April 1977 issue of Audio Magazine has a glowing review on page 60.
