I'm going to give the Sparkos Dual Discrete Op Amp SS3602 a shot in my Fosi dac. We'll see how that goes.  :)

I installed the Sparkos Dual Discrete Op Amp SS3602 for the RCA outputs on my Fosi ZD3. It seems to have calmed down the highs a little and the music is sounding a bit warmer than the original op amp that was installed. I didn't notice much change in the sound stage although I did move my speakers further apart again. Now the sound stage is sounding more of the way I expect it should.

I also turned off the Wiim Ultra equalizer. When I tried the Outlaw receiver and Wiim dacs, the music sounded really muffled and not lively, so I always felt like the equalizer was needed. I only listened for about 90 minutes so far and I feel like I can leave the equalizer out of the equation. I have almost always used an equalizer in my stereo setups so I have to condition myself to accept it the way it sounds without it. When I play CDs, the Wiim is out of the circuit, so no active equalizer is in play for that media. I think it sounds great without adding an equalizer while playing CDs. This leads me to believe the dac in my cd player is of good quality. I'm concerned that I am calling the sound warmer only because the EQ is off.

I caved in and started using the EQ on my Wiim Ultra again. It sounds significantly better than when the EQ is off.

It is painful listening to music with no EQ knowing that I could make it so much more enjoyable. The high frequencies still seem to be tamer even with the EQ turned on now. I still feel like I am on the right track.

It's all about finding the sound you like. Your build is awesome; you have built a set of high-end speakers. In my humble opinion anything you put in the chain behind them will tell you which direction to go and the sound you want. I am not sure how many hours you have on them, but it takes a while for everything to settle in, calm down and open up.

I lost track of how many hours I have on them so far. It has to be close to or over 200 hours by now. I started playing them almost daily since Aug 2025.

I honestly only noticed change during the first couple of hours. It was an extremely drastic improvement in that short time. After that, if there was any change, I'm not too sure I would have noticed. They have sounded amazing ever since those first couple of hours.
