Before this purchase, I was looking really hard at the JBL L100t3. The main deal breaker was the pair I was looking at were on the east coast and I live on the west coast. There wasn't really any way to test them unless I was to fly over there. Shipping was going to cost $650 by itself for something you could not see or hear. You can only buy these speakers used as well with no warranty.
I owned a pair of the JBL L100T and I loved those speakers so much. Then I got this wild hair to setup a home theater system using Definitive Technology speakers. I thought they sounded pretty awesome at the time. After a few years, one of the plate amplifiers failed and they are so complicated that a self-repair wasn't going to be possible for me. Definitive wanted $300 for another amp but if I was going to spend that much money on old speakers, maybe I should consider something new. It turns out, I didn't watch movies as often as I thought which made the purchase less ideal.
I have 12 hours of experience with the Bully speakers now, and I have to honestly tell you, it was the best decision I have made when it comes to stereo. I never knew music could sound this way in your own home. I don't even think I have heard many concerts that can come even close to this experience. So far, I have no regrets on this purchase. These speakers are absolutely magical, and they are not even broken in yet. Some of the songs I have played for years have become shockingly new and different. I have picked up sounds I have never heard before in my favorites. The coolest thing in the world is the drummer kicking his bass drum and it's like a punch in your chest. I could never go back to any speaker I've owned before. Hell, I wouldn't even consider looking for anything "better". I found my forever speakers!
