Hey folks,

Here’s my first sneak peek at the new tech I’ve been chatting about. First up is the new Torsion High Efficiency speaker cable. This design was the first I created to use our new Stranded wire Aerogel tech. I’ll dive into ,ore details at a later date, but I’ll say this about it, Brian Charney has said this is the best Soeaker cable he has ever heard. When we started this project I decided that he would have final say on whether the build meets his approval or not. It took a couple attempts for me to get it right, but in the end Brian gave me the enthusiastic thumbs up.

lightweight and incredibly flexible this bold new design is Hapa Audio’s first high efficiency design.

What system will the cables be hooked up to?
Hard to tell what cables are doing hooked up to an unfamiliar system.

The other gear listing will be posted when I arrive at the show and we finalize the room.

That said, we are definitely using the Charney Audio Lumaca VI with AER BD-3 drivers. The front end gear will be from AudioNote and will include the Meishu integrated along with one of their DACs. The server will be provided by Lukas Audio Labs.

I agree with you, it's hard to tell what anything is doing in a system you've never head before. The goal for us vendors at the show is to maximize the sound quality for the entire system, then it's my job to steal credit for why the entire system sounds so great.  :icon_twisted:  :jester:

I just glanced at the Charney website's description and photos of theLumaca speakers and was wowed by the construction techniques. There's no way I can make it to the show, so I may never hear these speakers. Can you describe their sound, Jason?

Just arrived at the show. This hotel is gigantic! Absolutely colossal.

Mresseguie- the Lumacas are next tier. Briefly, they are the most coherent, convincing speaker I have ever heard bar none. You guys know how many years I’ve been doing show coverage, so it ain’t hyperbole when I say this speaker is revolutionary and represents the pinnacle of what’s possible. I am absolutely humbled that I get to work with Brian for this show and of course all the product development our friendship has garnered should tell the whole story. Charney Audio is the real deal end all be all.

Check out my write up here toward the bottom of the numerous rants. https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=191204.0

Glad to see you all made it there safely. The set up looks great and Pez is right about his cables and the Charney Lumacas.
When Brian called me to discuss his building the Lumacas I thought he’s nukin futz! A horn with no hard angles that gradually gets larger from the speaker chamber to the horn opening. Kinda like a bugle but made out of wood and 6,7,or 8 feet in height. Well the day we set them up for the first time is was in absolute awe of what I was hearing. Complete 3D holographic imaging with bass that’s so right! I wish I had the proper verbage to describe them. But let’s just say with the Lumacas you experience the depth and soul what an artist is conveying. Many times I have that “oh I get it now” experience.

Pez’s new cables are no slouch either! His new design is off the charts great! They replaced some very high dollar Kondo speaker wire in the Charney listening room. I hope to wire up my Companions for one day with it.

Hope the show goes well!

Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

rodge827,

Thank you for your compliments! I’ll definitely put together a write up after the show on this new speaker cable. I’ve chatted a lot on the technology behind it, but in order to get Brian’s approval it was many months of trial and a whole lot of error.  I went about the development process different with this design than any other design. I put 100% of the testing and approval process in Brian’s hands, while I focused on the technologies development to make it happen.

When I thought I had the design finalized, Brian said “nope, bass isn’t there, fix it.” So it was off to the races again. The second “final” prototype finally met with his (elated) approval.  :green: I couldn’t have been more proud.

Hearing it here at the show is the first time I’ve heard it on the Lumaca speakers, and I get it. I’ve heard his speakers at his house without my speaker cables and while it was incredibly impressive, it was less dimensional and clean without my speaker cable. With it… what can I say, the new Torsion H.E. is one of the designs I managed to squeeze way more out of it than I thought possible.

Here at the Dallas show is the first time I’ve heard my speaker cable design on his speakers. And I’m beaming at the results. Clean and so wonderful together. I consider it a great honor to feed such incredible speakers with my cable design.

It’s been a crazy day. About 2 hours to the end of day 2. If you’ve heard the buzz about our room, you owe it to yourself to stop in.
