XS-XRK Amp Case (part 4)
« on: 20 Feb 2025, 04:29 pm »
Started building another All-Billet 6061 case for the XRK Audio 3255-PFFB pcb with an integrated power supply...
Added integral heat dissipation fins/ribs near the heat spreader plate this time. 19mm push button LED switch countersunk on this unit as well...

Had to graft in another 3E Audio 3255-PFFB (XRK populated PCB not yet avail.)

The integrated Meanwell LOP 600-48 is dead quiet...

Thank you.

Highly modified Polk RTA-8TL's with Phase-Plugged and Focus-Ringed factory Polk Midwoofers , Billet bezel Dayton 28mm tweeters, and rear mounted Polk Power-Ports.

Thanks all. This thing is the best sounding of all 4 of my 3251/5 amps. The PFFB really does the higher end justice over the non-PFFB Aiyima A07 I built.

Very Creative!

I know if it was mine, I would apply black paint to inverted machined grooves on the bottom of the amp.
That way the amp ties in with the black you have on your speakers, and the aluminum finish on your tweeters.

Another alternative, buy some 1/32" black pinstripe tape and wrap it, then your good to go. IMO, I think it will make the amp's appearance, feel more high end. Not sure what the tolerances on the inverted grooves you machined out are?  I'm just guessing perhaps 1/32" would fit?

Thanks again. I prefer the all-billet look, but I can experiment on the case by just removing the inputs and speaker terminals. I used a 0.110 carbide insert spaced 0.125" for vane strength. It's all 100% 6061-T6 alloy and tough as nails.
