Odyssey “The Statements” power amps

Hey fellas, it has been a very long time since I last get on AC and posting anything.  The excitement is coming again… I’m still using my Odyssey Stratos monoblocks, about 6-7 months ago, Klaus and I have been discussed as how to improve his current amps, I had suggested something really crazy or even out of this world kind of amps that even Klaus himself never thought it is possible in the beginning. In some instances we even thought of building a pair of monoblocks using 4 chassis each amp will have its own separate power supply, but we understand some and or most of us don’t have the room for a pair of monos. So I decided to go with the current Stratos chassis for my one of a kind and name it “The Statement”. Klaus promised I will get my very first pair within the next 4 weeks.  Klaus will build a second pair for himself & let’s see if anyone of you might be interested to get in the line.  This is going to be a world class. The transformers I chose is some very specials and really expensive kinds. The main boards is his latest designed which took him many years to R&D. The prototype boards are in and very promising. Please note it won’t be cheap, get your wallets ready.

Got to admit, the idea of a totally separate supply stacking on top of the amplifier chassis like Krell did years ago with the KAS series I think it was sounds mighty tempting. Another possibility that has always been in the back of my mind would be a way to combine two mono blocks into one monstrous mono block. Then of course you would have to buy two more for a stereo set. Maybe like use one mono block for the positive half of the signal with the other one doing the negative half with the speaker acting as a bridge between the two. Or something like that. Basically, a way to mono two monos.

How many watts per mono blocks? Knowing Klaus,it will have plenty of current.

Very exciting, to say the least.  Odyssey products offer incredible performance, especially when you consider their real-world prices.  I have a feeling that Klaus's entry into the SOTA stratosphere would represent a comparable performance/value proposition.  But my 3 year-old Kismets are SO good that I have no urge to upgrade power amps at this time.

Now, a "Statement" preamp from Klaus would get my attention.  The Candela is a very capable component, so significantly bettering it would be an impressive feat. I don't recall exactly where I heard it, but years ago there was some chatter about a possible cost-no-object preamp from Odyssey.  No idea if it was real or just another internet rumor...

Yes to a SOTA Odyssey pre amp.  I have been pricing a few pre amps lately.

I didn't make many as it got too expensive and was too much of a pain in the ass.......and separate Kismet / Candela combination was better and more flexible....however,  this is a different animal....full blown all-out monos with 2 separate power supplies = 4 boxes..............

I've got a pair of Clarysis Minuets that have been sitting around waiting to find something that can power them.  I'm waiting to see what folks have to say after they get a pair of these "all in" monos.  I know Klaus is still playing with the design but I have a feeling that he can make these work for these beautiful sounding but difficult to drive speakers.  So far nothing I have laying around makes them sing like I know they can.
