Greg was kind enough to allow me to visit his shop/showroom/home yesterday for a brief listen to his Razz speakers. He lives more or less mid-point between Nashville and where my daughter-in-law's parents home in Kentucky. My wife and I had spent a couple days in Nashville before driving to Kentucky to visit the in-laws. Anyway, I've known about Volti Audio speakers for years now, but <until yesterday> had never been in the right place at the right show to hear a pair.

"So how did they sound?", you ask. Well, let me just say that if you don't have a few grand burning a hole in your pocket, you should steer well clear of his speakers. [I hope that comes across as humorous.] Holy shit! The Razz image like crazy. The 3D space was centered between the left and right speakers. Greg played female vocals, male vocals, classical, and a couple Rock songs. They all sounded terrific.

I've heard plenty of speakers in N. America and in Taiwan in the last dozen years, but few of them come close to what I heard yesterday. What really stood out to me is the Razz are Volti Audio's entry level speakers!!

I can't help but wonder/imagine what his best speakers sound like. They must be incredible.

Greg, a photo of the Vittora in your room at the Florida Audio Expo was included in the current Copper Magazine, Issue 216, as well as a mention, at the end of the article, that they will have much more to say about the Vittora in the next issue.

The "sound" in this room was incredible...as usual...maybe even more so as it was both everywhere but with great imaging.

A question for Greg about the Cary amp....were you running stock tube or have you found some NOS tubes that make it perform even better with your speakers?

Stock tubes. No upgrades to the amp either.

I appreciate it when I hear something that I like the sound of, regardless of price. The humble SLI80 just does it for me.

I'm talking to the Allnic rep about getting one of their amps for AXPONA. Of course I'll get to try it out at my place until then. I think I'm going to like it. I have my eye on the T-1500 - 300B SET integrated with a remote volume control. I think they sell in the $10K range.

You may also wish to try a great amp that I have driving my PAP speakers with horns, Whammerdyne DGA-1, a 2A3 tube amp. Also under $10k.

It has connections for 2 inputs, and also has a volume control. So no preamp required, though I prefer one in my setup.

Cool looking amp. Does it have a remote volume control? That's a must for me, as I change volumes for nearly every song at the shows.

I just wanted to update you on the Lucera speakers. They are amazing speakers!! No matter what music I play, they reproduce music as close to a live event as I have ever heard. I can't say enough goods things about them and at the price that you sell them for, in my opinion, they are a bargain.

The whammerdyne DGA does not have remote. They do have other products, such as an integrated, IIRC, but I'm not familiar with any of them.

Hey Greg,

I notice on the cover plate on the back of the New Vittora it is labeled "Vittora V4."

For us curious Volti history buffs, could you delineate what changes occurred with the V2 and V3 of the original Vittora? Or does this suggest that the New Vittora went through three development stages and the current production version is V4?

Welcome Greg!

Its great to have you on this forum along with one of my other favorite music purveyors, Dan at Modwright. A quick story for those on the forum about Greg and his speakers. Spoiler Alert - I own a pair of his Razz speakers.

In the spring of 2024 after researching, listening and narrowing down what was to be my next set of speakers I contacted Greg and asked if I could drop in his TN shop for a visit and to pick up my speakers vs having him ship. He was a good days drive from my home and I was planning to stay overnight in Crossville, TN. I arrived and spent time with Greg and one of his team in the shop seeing the process of how a Razz speaker was crafted. I was amazed at the process and care put into every step of the build. We then wandered across the county road for some good Mexican food/beverage followed by an extended listening session back at the ranch with "my new speakers" playing with his system - yes the Cary amp mentioned above. I ended up spending the evening on a nice camp cot in Greg's workshop so I can truly say that I was close to the build and details surrounding the speakers. Next morning we were up, had an espresso and packed the speakers for their ride home. Greg is a really good man and a true craftsman. It was a fantastic experience to have spent time with him and have this story I just wrote above about "my" Volti Razz speakers. BTW I have them paired with a First Watt F8 amp and the Modwright LS 100 with NOS tubes. They really shine!
