These are some exciting announcements.  You guys are one of the few companies that don't hype up this stuff, and in addition I had some experience with Gary Dodd and his components and Danny's generosity was profound, IMO, so I have much more trust in what you guys are producing.
   A few questions:
1 - Will it be possible to get the interconnects in much longer lengths?  I'm re-organizing a room for two purposes: living room and listening room.  Due to space constraints, my current plan is having my sources on one side of the room and my active crossover and amps and speakers on the other side of the room.  I've gotten conflicting advice on whether to have a long run of speaker wire or long run of interconnects.  So my plan is to try the long run of single ended interconnects, about 40'.  I know that's inviting RF/EMF risks, but I can't think of another way at the moment.  Can you make a pair of interconnects at that length?

2 - In his video, Danny mentioned the first interconnect he made for himself was with continuous cast copper.  Is he referring to the PCOCC?  I made my own speaker cables with that wire and they've been great (though I've only compared them to zip cord and some very old Monster wire.).  Your product page for these new interconnects only mention OFC.  I may just be a continuous cast fanboy, but why did you choose just OFC?  I would imagine you tried PCOCC.  Was it a cost consideration, or did you find that your current formula worked better?

3 - Looking at your interconnects, I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at.  There are copper wire strands weaved into what looks like more wire encased in a white jacket.  Is the bare wire just the ground, or vice versa?

4 - I'm also very curious about your diffusion panels.  I have a couple of foam diffusion panels I've put on the front wall, but they're very floppy and also white and an eye-sore.  Painting them is probably the way to go.  Anyway, are your diffusers stiff enough to stand on their own?

5 - I'm still not clear on if spikes are better than something like sorbothane for resonance control.  Is it just two schools of thought?

THANKS!

Regarding the interconnects, I saw that there were no plans for an XLR version.

Is it an issue with the number of wires (e.g. if you added a ground wire(s) to the mix)?

Hopefully one day it could be reconsidered.

Any news on the 8" drivers? I have use for a pair.

Thanks!
No news, we don't have any plans for them at this time. Too many other irons in the fire.

I'm with you.  I have to use XLR for my amps, but it sounds like XLR would be too hard to have made, and would be a mess for DIY - sounds like people would have too much trouble.

I would definitely try them as I'm in the middle of buying wire right now.

For great XLRs check out Anticables.

Thank you.  I have a pair of AC Level 4.1 Reference PLUS Xhadow XLR (used) and a pair of Cardas Clear Sky (gifted).  The Anticables are the ones with Silver/Gold wire.  I've also swapped in Reality Cables Reference Line that a friend let me borrow and they are... different.   Also using Anticables Level 4.3 FLEX speaker wire, which I really like as well.  The AC stuff can be bought used for a song, and I like it.

The Double Helix design Danny and Hobbs worked on for the GR interconnects is something I'd really like to try.  A lot of thought went into them.  There was a description of the cable design on the site, but I don't see it right now.

If I go the Cardas route I'm looking at for IC, it will be almost 6X the price of the GR Interconnects.  That's an RCA in the GR though, but Cardas doesn't differentiate in RCA / XLR pricing.

6X is a lot, and based on what I was briefly able to read last night about the GR cables, they are very interesting.

1. Not currently, we would need to have them made in bulk, but out production run is about to arrive in port soon so it will be some time before we make another production run.
but if we start getting regular requests for longer runs we may order a few in longer runs

2. Some of his very early interconnects were made from some form of OCC wire, the current ones are just OFC, we mostly wanted to keep the prices reasonable, as changing the conductor would have added additional manufacturing costs. Comparing the current cables against Danny's old OCC cables, the new ones do still sound better.

3. There are 8 wires that are are coated in either clear or white polyethylene jacketing (4 of each) which are then braided into a counter rotating geometry, around a cotton rope in the middle, which helps to separate the individual strands of cable, lowering its capacitance, and creating a filter against external EMI and RFI without the need for external shielding.
Clear coated wire is the positive leg, and white is the negative/ground.

4. The foam panels are very stiff, but the smaller ones will stand on their own, but for more than 24x24" high, they will need a base and backing to hold them upright.

5. It depends on the sub floor that the speakers are sitting on. If the floor is suspended above the ground, then we recommend absorption/damping/decoupling etc.
if your subfloor is a solid concrete slab sitting on the ground, then we recommend spiking the speaker to the floor.

Early B.

My interconnects arrived today:

They look much nicer than my crappy phone pic. I'll report back soon with initial impressions...

My interconnect cables came today. I let them warm up from the cold for about 1/2 an hour. I hooked them up between my preamp and tube mono blocks. These cables are very clear sounding. We all know the opening verse of Shelby Lynne's Just a little loving and the famous whisper we all try to hear, well I can hear it very clear with this cable compared to others. Midrange has some nice bloom to it, not in your face. Sound stage is nice and deep like my other cables. Openness in the highs are decent and hopefully will open up more with some time on the cables. Bass goes down very deep on certain songs, not bloated just deep which does bother my ears a bit. Cable sounds very good and I feel it's a great cable. I purchased it because I have multiple amps and I have 2 outputs on my pre so this makes it easier not having to swap out too many cables. I'm satisfied.

Anyone else with any thoughts who have received their cables yet?
