Hi guys, I was at the Costco today and I saw nice acoustic panels.I don't know, if this is a new or old item, but I thought I should share my discovery with the rest of the class (lol).They come in 4 colours, $59.99 for 4 panels.Here's the link;

The acoustic experts on AC will probably say that with a thickness of 0.83 inches (2.1 cm), these panels won't do very much. Gonna need at least 2 inches.

No acoustic measurements.  Felt and wood are not great acoustic absorption materials.  Slotted design does nothing for absorption.  But no doubt better than painted gypsum, plaster, or masonry.

I've looked into these slatted walls. The look is super good and I may do that for a wall when we remodel the listening room.

Here is a different company actually showing some specs. Similar product but will give you an idea. These are about 3x as expensive as the Costco ones Mariusz listed.

Those look nice! Very good solution to adding some sound absorption to a stylish domestic space. I’m sure these are not “studio standard” but we all know that striking a good balance between esthetics and performance, without breaking the bank, is not trivial. Thanks for sharing! These would look great in my home office / man cave.

Kind of attractive but probably not super effective.

I was in my local Costco two days ago and the Artika Sonolok panels are now just $34.99 for a four-pack (in-store, not online price).
I get that they are likely too shallow to have much effect except for upper frequencies. However, at just $8.75 for a 2'x2' square, I'm wondering if they have any value as a "base" to create a DIY modification from?

Any thoughts?

I would imagine that if you installed them over 2" battens screwed to the wall with rock wool installed between the panels and the wall you obtain results similar to those shown in the technical specs for the Slatpanels that nlitworld and Mariusz linked to above. That's assuming the two products felts and distance between slats are similar. That said, the specs show they aren't possessed of great acoustic effect even installed over batten and rock wool.

For the most part, that's what the GIK panels are doing. It is the slat wall with felt in front of a 2" panel but all as one nice unit.
