Temperature of preamp (BP25)
« on: 26 Jan 2025, 10:02 am »
I have noticed that the device is getting quite warm after a couple of days.
On the internet I found this topic but unfortunately with no answer at the end (the topicstarter had contacted Bryston but not leaving behind the reaction)

I was wandering what is 'normal'??

On the inside you can clearly see the cooling fins and the large capacitors, but wouldn't you rather suspect the blue electrolytic capacitors of breaking after more than 2 decades of use?

electronics, just by pure physics, get warm when you run a current through them.  electronics are also much less sensitive to temperature than our hands are.  i would imagine all is good.

if you're really concerned, get one of those infrared thermometers and find out what the actual temp of the case is.  then you won't have to guess/worry.
