Me thinks this is the real 'sweet spot' in the Technics lineup. Whether the G or K version, I lean towards the 'K'   :thumb:

I would be happy with the SL1700 or 1800, very cheap used.

Just read a review, THAT'S a nice deck! Wish it had the 9" magnesium arm tube, though. Still, it's got all of the other latest updates, should be good for many years' enjoyment.

I agree, the pre-Mk2 SL-1800 is a really good vintage deck, but OP isn't talking about the original SL-1300. And this new one will NEVER be as cheap as an original series deck.
