Hi from an Audio Enthusiast!
« on: 3 Dec 2024, 09:12 am »
Hey everyone,I’m an audio lover who’s been exploring the world of sound for a while. I’m into everything from vintage gear to the latest tech, and I’m always looking for ways to improve my setup.

I’m here to connect with others who share the same passion, exchange tips, and learn more about different audio equipment. If anyone’s into like speakers, amps, etc. I’d love to chat!

Looking forward to being part of the community!

Have you discovered active monitors (used in professional studios)?  Active design has a number of inherent advantages.  My last few speakers were all active monitors.  Prices and features range from $300/pair for basic 2-way desktop sized up to over $100,000/pair for large multiple driver speakers with room EQ, etc.  All can fill a room with wonderful sound.  My favorite were JBL 708P's, a 2-way with 8 inch woofer and 1 inch horn loaded compression tweeter ($4000/pair).

My last pair were Buchardt A500SE's which used dual 6.5 inch Purifi mid/woofers and a 0.75 inch wave guide loaded tweeter with room EQ and "master tuning" which could be operated via XLR or wirelessly.  They were rated down to 25 Hz.
