This thread is about designing a more affordable RM/X, so how is my drawing of what I would like to see off topic?

Welcome to the VMPS circle.
In looking at your drawing, what makes the design similar to the RM/x?
The RM/x has specific qualities that make it sound superior to most anything else, and one of the most significant (and as well the reason for its high cost) is the reduced baffle area so that baffle defraction is virtually eliminated.
In looking at the design, it seems you have "substantially increased" the baffle area considerably. In fact it is even much larger than the RM30, and for much of its length the RM40.
Both the RM40 and RM30 would likely provide the performance to value you are looking for, in comparison to the RM/x (especially with a couple tweaks

) and they're already in the lineup.
