It's VERY nicely balanced, tonally, for music, but for me, it makes male voices a bit thick.. The CC speaker best balanced for music and voice is my Martin Logan ElectroMotion ELS C, a hybrid with two moving-coil low-frequecy drivers mounted internally (like the V-steen VCC-5), two electrostatic panels for MR, and a folded-motion tweeter; its lower-frequency energy didn't make male voices thick, but it didn't have the voice clarity that I require with my bad ears and good hearing-aids*.. My current fave CC speaker is the Magnepan CCR, a wide MR-and-treble speaker that is very articulate on voices and NEVER sounds thick because it has...NO BASS panels.

I've recently purchased a used Sound Labs MARQUEE to go with my SL Majestic 745s...

...which sound absolutely FABULOUS.. The PS Audio BHK600s on the top shelf in the pic are now gone, with the Pass Labs class-A XA60.8s being the best-sounding amps driving the SLs that I've ever heard, and I've been thru MANY expensive amps this year.. To clarify, the Pass X26o.8s were the first amps to be worth keeping, earning what I'd call 8 on the 10 scale.. The PSA BHK M600s earned a 9, and the Pass XA60.8 earned a 10, and I'm FINISHED evaluating poweramps.. To be clear about these quality ratings, they apply only when driving Sound Lab electrostatic speakers.

FWIW, my V-steen 7.2s, M7-HPA poweramps, VCC-5, and ElectroMotion ELS C will very soon be available from The Music Room...
