Magnus:
Your speakers are 91db efficient, so the 60w from the Nuprime should be good.

EvanF:
Good offer, but you have exceeded his budget. He would need it to be at or under $200 shipped. Does the Yamaha have a built in phono stage?

Ok, I am sending Magnus the IDA-6 in the morning. He'll have it mid next week. Magnus, after you get it set up, please let me know if you like it.

The receiver is amazing! My previous receiver was not poor by any means, but this is special. The sound is wonderful.

I played a particular rendition of Mahler's Fifth Symphony, Erich Leinsdorf leading the Boston Symphony Orchestra. I love the interpretation, but the sound always seemed a little rough. It seems like a good candidate for remastering down the road. However, low and behold...it now sounds like their home, Boston Symphony Hall. People sometimes talk about listening to old favorites to see what's new. I do, too. But now I want to listen to stuff I've previously dismissed. Maybe I was unfair in previous assessments.

What other performances have I passed on that were just fine?

The audio world is amazing because you never know what you'll find...even in familiar terrain.

Thank you friends for your insights, too. I'll report back when I get that phono preamp and get my vinyl going again.
