VInnie, anybody, can you give me a fidelity "description" of both units? I have a Teac and wonder if it will have nearly the same "magic" of the 2024 chip if modded to battery power?
Hi Albee,
The battery conversion + mods to the Teac that I do certainly make it sound very similar to the Clari-T, but with more punch and the ability to drive speakers that are not high efficiency. There is plenty of
magic in the TK2050 power amp chip once it is modded for serious performance...which is what I do.
These are some serious 30 watts here...super clean, super dynamic, total battery powered Tripath sound!
I have one customer all the way in Monaco who has a Clari-T, and recently received his Red Wine Teac, which he loves and will post about soon.
Dmason will have his by the end of next week, and will be able to use it with his Real-T (which has a pair of volume controlled RCA outputs), which means he can use the built-in Monica 2 and stepped attenuator, and switch between the modded Clari-T board and the Red Wine Teac!
