Had a customer request to demo a dspNexus system with his new to him Magnepan 3.7 speakers.  He has ported powered subs behind them to integrate.  This uses the existing passive crossover in the 3.7's and turned the subs crossover point as high as possible to use the new DSP crossover in the dspNexus.

The connections to the amps and subs were RCA, so I brought some adapter cables I built to go from XLR to RCA for the system use. 

Setup a crossover between the 3.7's and subs and added time delay to the main speakers to time align them with the subs.  Set the sub levels and the system is playing music.  The system sounds very good, but hear where improvements can be made.

The customer wants to measure his room, so he is getting a measurement mic, stand and XLR cable to run REW to calculate the parametric EQ's needed to flatten the room response.

We will call this stage one of the installation, where the next stage is do the measurements and room EQ.

Second stage to this system integration with the dspNexus 2/8 will be building two 2x12 modular open baffle subs to replace the ported subs in use now.

The sofa between the speakers will be moved and the subs will go between the 3.7's.

That will be in Feb 2025.

The Modular H-Frame 1x12 sub cabinet flatpacks arrived from captainhemo and the GR-Research 12in OB sub drivers are here.

Time to build some sub cabinets and install the sub drivers for the two 2x12 subs.

The customer does not want painted cabinets, so these will be delivered as is after the build wired for use.

Got new clamps and glue today and module #1 is assembled, clamped and glue drying.

First pair of modular 1x12 OB cabinets ready for sub drivers.

The third module is glued and clamped once it dries, time to build the last cabinet for the second stack.

Started installing and wiring the GR-Research sub drivers in the modular 1x12 OB cabinets. 

First module is complete.  Three more to do.

The first 2x12 OB modular sub stack is complete.

The four stack of OB subs are complete and tested.

Next is box them up for travel to the customers system.

Modular subs are packed and ready to take to the customer tomorrow for installation.

The two modular 2x12 OB subs are now setup with his Magnepan 3.7 speakers.

The dspNexus 2/8 is doing the speaker correction and sub bass management and crossover for the system.

REW measurements are letting me do other correction after some processing.  Now I can send the file to the customer with mods for listening trials.
