Superbowl weekend is here!  The week that this thread dies waiting all year until next season.  Having contracted Covid 19 I'll be watching at home instead of going to the small Superbowl party i had planned to go to.  No wings, dang.  Who will win?  The Eagles are by far the better team on paper, they are essentially an all star team in one town.  But the Chiefs have Mahomes who has consistently defied the naysayers to win more than he's lost in the big game.  The wildcard are the refs.  They aren't corrupt, but they are below the level of competency needed and they absolutely let Mahomes game the system to draw more roughing penalties.  The other problem is the stupid beyond any belief system the NFL has for picking SB refs.  They used part time refs which is dumb in and of itself, then they don't pick an all star team of refs, they pick individual refs and stick them together for the first time.  If you designed a system to fail this would be it.

The winner?  Andy Reid has too much experience in designing game plans to win big games, Siriani will get out coached and Chiefs win by three.  The Eagles win in a blowout, but if it's close it's KC.

Now, that's what I'd call covering your butt.   Guaranteed one of them will win.  :D

You think Letitroll98 is covering his butt?
I'm going to go out on a limb here and the NY Giants will NOT be going home with a ring.

Either team is fine with me.
Barkley has really shown what he's capable of and the Chiefs are gracious no matter which way the game goes.

Is it time for dinner yet?

This is obviously simplifying things to a ridiculous degree, but I strongly believe that THE key player in this game is not Patrick Mahomes, but Saquon Barkley.  He has had one of the all-time great seasons, and he seems to be peaking right now.  If the Chiefs can't find a way to slow him down at least a little, it might not matter what their offense is able to do against Philly's best-in-league defense (no small task on its own).

Since I don't have a horse in this race, I only hope for an exciting and competitive game. An added (but surely not expected) bonus would be zero or at least minimal screen time for Tay-tay. I don't have anything against her personally (other than not liking her music), but she should NEVER be such a big focus of any NFL game - let alone the Super Bowl.

My wildest dream is to be able to endure the idiotic commercials, the half-time show and the peppering of Swiftomania throughout the broadcast, and come out the other side with my sanity still intact!

GO BIRDS!!

Incredible what this man does on a weekly basis.  The best since Barry. I don't have any reason to believe that he will melt under the bright lights of the Super Bowl.

If Philly has the right strategy to counter the Chiefs "Stop Saquon" game plan, it could get very interesting. I would think a QB like Hurts could be just the man for that job.

I have a client who belongs to The Squires Golf Club in Ambler PA. He met Saquan at the course for a charity event and said he is an absolute gentleman! When they were introduced Saquan stood up took his hat off and shook his hand looking him in the eyes! Class act all the way never talking about himself during interviews always complimenting his teamates!

GO BIRDS!!

So, what's the over/under on calls, both penalties and possession change calls, that go the Chief's way that are clearly bad calls, even with a review?

Ha ha, I thought about that after I reviewed my comment, but no, I clearly said Chiefs by three because if it's close the Chiefs have Mahomes and Reid.  Maybe I could have said it more clearly, but the Eagles win only if it's a blowout.  And what, no condolences about my imminent demise from the roid?  Nothing about the refs?  Only trying for a gotcha, you've always been so much better than that.  J/K 😉

I'll turn the game on at kick-off, can't stand the talking head BS. As for the half time entertainment(if that's what you call it), good time to take a shower !  :D

Congrats Josh Allen.  MVP well deserved and appropriate for the 2024 magical, record-breaking effort.  SB just a matter of time.  Soon.

Opps, I forgot, yes Congrats to Josh, VERY well deserved !

While I too would love to see the Bills win a SB, remember the X-Flies from 30 plus years ago ? when the 'Smoking Man' said, "and the Bills will never win a Super Bowl" ........

As a kid growing up in Bflo I had Jack Kemps jersey, #15, as an adult I had the greatest special teams player of all times jersey, #89 Steve Tasker, might be time to get #17 .........

I got the JA jersey along with #34.  Yet right up there is my "He Hate Me' from the XFL's Las Vegas Outlaws.  Plus, my younger son teaches at SFHS here and had Tasker's son for a semester.  With that said, I was able to talk with Steve for a short time and will admit he was very polite and accommodating.  HOF intangibles.  Go Eagles, and good luck Steve Tasker, we're all behind you.  Amazing player and person.

Eagles up 17-0! Chiefs look terrible. Mahomes took 2 sacks and threw a pick six!

The Beagles look great, the Chiefs can't get anything going.

The Chiefs have shown nothing and probably will not be able to mount any sort of comeback in the 2nd half. Total domination by philly.
