Motorcycles keep you young

65 coming up in a few months, better do it while I can.
2016 Triumph Truxton R, I should have bought one of these years ago.

First pictures show the stock low clip-ons, last pics show the higher clip ons from the S model which is much easier on my lower back.

I'm going to get rid of the catalytic converter and a put on a slightly louder exhaust.
Other than that, this bike is just perfect for me.  It'll putt along but will go like hell when you nail the throttle.  It's very comfortable with really good suspension, it has just enough vibration to make it feel motorcycle-y without buzzing anything to sleep.

I started riding off-road motorcycles in 1971 and I have put in a lot of street miles as well. Currently riding Sherco (2-stroke and 4-stroke) enduro bikes and I bought a 2024 TRS One R 250 Trials motorcycle this spring. I do like Triumph motorcycles a lot. I had the opportunity to test ride a Triumph Speed Triple and it is the finest handling street motorcycle I have ever ridden. Riding motorcycles is great fun.

Those new Speed Triples are ridiculously overpowered.
Worse things could happen, I suppose.

Those Shercos look the business, they're not fooling around.

A Bonneville has been a long time on the short but the Thruxton has always been a favorite, especially since the 1200 came out.
I had a 1050 Speed Triple for a time.  Loads of fun and there’s no sound like the triple ripple through an Arrow system.

I gave up riding when my hearing took a turn for the worse.  My last real trip was from central Tx up east NM to Montrose, CO, then back through the western desert of NM.   Those long, lonely stretches in the desert with scattered rains was magical.  I was on an old "85 Goldwing.

I was a biker from the 1970s to 90s, so give up due the absurd amount of vehicles on the streets, docs call motorcyclists donors (of organs).

Love the Corbin saddle also with matching piping.  I had one on my first of two ‘99 ZRX1100.  What a fist full of fun those bike were.  I can only imagine what it’s like trying to hang onto the 1200.
