My favor in cars and bikes are SOHC command, they are more reliable than the DOCH and have a nicer sound.

Not in a car, but this is in my dad's boat. Chevy 572 with twin superchargers. Oooof, that thing can move, and chug the gas like a frat house party. But the sound that thing has is monstrous.  :o

I've had a number of US and European V8s over the years, both big and small blocks. By a large margin, I prefer the 4.7 V8 (sourced by Ferrari) in my GTC. Red lines at 7500 RPM, produces a modest 460(ish) HP, makes tons of torque and is quite simply, the best sounding car on the street.

When it comes to simplicity, I'll take a 5.0L ford with a carburetor.

Seems the GM LS engines are sport car engines, what dont seems robust to reach high mileage. IMO

Dang, Don - that is one gorgeous ride.  I might be in the minority, but to me, the current Corvette is the best-looking (and best engineered) in its long and storied history.

Looking at those numbers, they are incredibly close to one of my favorite V-8's, the 392 Hemi.

Vette: 6.2L, 495 HP, 470 lb. ft. torque.
Hemi: 6.4L, 485 HP, 475 lb. ft. torque.

My brother put one in his '59 New Yorker back in 1981, and it was a quite impressive looking and performing ride.  Not the fastest off the line (VERY heavy car), but it absolutely crushed it from 80-120mph.

LSs are used in everything from trucks, SUVs, vans, Vettes, Camaros, CTS-Vs, G8s, Caprices, SSs, you name it.  There are millions of them out there and they regularly go 200K without a problem.

Thanks Jeff, I had a 2016 C7 which was a great car, but the 2025 C8 is a different beast.
0-60mph in 2.8 seconds. Top speed 194mph
Here’s a pic of the C7.

Later today I am doing a value estimate on my Black Rousch F150 with a supercharged Coyote . It's a 2017 xlt 4x4 and I just broke 1100 miles.

I’ve always been a Corvette guy, but that’s a really nice ride. 5.2L flat plane very similar to 5.5L flat plane in Corvette Z06. Although 670HP in Z06 vs 526HP in Ford

Enjoy your ride!
