Before I started building tube gear, I was a motor head building nearly 10 cars. My altime favorite was my Chevy II Nova with a custom built Chevy 302 V8 with a power glide behind it. Built the motor and car at the shop I worked at. Always loved the high rpm motors like the 283 and 302.

This is a small block Chevy, the middle 2 exhaust ports are right next to each other so the factory manifold only has one runner for both cylinders. This lasted through the Vortec motors with minor changes, all later truck motors and the LS motors starting in 1997 had the middle 2 ports separated.

Yes, that is an image of a newly built Chevy small block 302 as Dave mentioned. I had a few 283’s as well. Put a 2 speed power glide behind it and you have a race machine
