Amadeus Mk2 vs. Amadeus Jr
« on: 25 May 2024, 04:46 am »
I'm looking at these TT as a possible step up. I've looked but haven't found any comparisons with the Amadeus Jr versus the Amadeus mk2. I automatically think that "Junior" denotes a stripped down version but that might not be the case especially with the remaining product lines being made. If anyone has heard both, I'd really welcome an opinion or discussion on this.

Thanks in advance.

I've had an Amadeus for over a decade. I can only "guess" that between the two mentioned candidates, there would be very little if any sonic difference. Both have the same 10.5" tonearm and possess the same unique core engineering principles. Might boil down to which you prefer cosmetically. As always, YMMV as the above is purely a guess.

Update, I decided to buy an Amadeus GTA mkii with less than 50 hours on it. Thanks, Mick, for responding.

Got the Amadeus GTA in and after hours of working with the tonearm with Mick's help for the final adjustments, I'm playing records. I'm very happy with it. One of the main attributes I'm hearing is how quiet it is in between music.

I do think WTL needs more instruction on how to set up the LTD tonearm. Some things seem overly difficult.
