So, Nilt…you are hired.  Do you live in the cincinnati area?  😂.  I used a 1k clear coat.  I never planned on anything too aggresive.  Im on the fence wether or not I even need to buff.  Ill add a close up of what im looking at.

Haha, outside Portland not Cincinnati. Ok so 1K clear your options are a little limited on how aggressive you can get. Are you trying to polish by hand or on a drill or polisher? If by hand, either get a big bottle of ibuprofen or maybe pass on that. That's a crap ton of elbow grease. If busting out a drill, keep it on low speed (about 1,000 rpm) and the pad flat to the surface. Careful to go up near any edges and especially the waveguide. You don't want to burn through and have to spot repair. Uuugh. :nono:

I finished installing the drivers and wiring them up.  First listening test was on a cheap tube amp in my garage to make certain everything worked properly before carrying them to the home theater room and hooking them up.  Sounded pretty good in the garage but nothing could have prepared me for how much better they would be once set up in the HT room.  I moved my older diy “statement 2’s” out and the Nx-oticas in.  The Otica simply fills or loads the room so much better and sounds so much more detailed.  Was totally blown away by how the midrange clarity takes over and reveals details that I've not heard before in my system with familiar tracks.  I had to leave town for work a few hours after getting them set up but cannot wait to get home next week and tweek the blend with the dual double trouble servo subs.  I set it up by ear and did a quick level match with an old radio shack spl mic.  Have not even had time to setup and measure with REW yet.  Cant imagine what will happen when I get the system dialed in and married up more precisely.  So far I am very happy and blown away with the result.  I went totally insane, over the top with the crossovers.  Perhaps that helped play a part.  People talk about 300+ hours of burn in and they sound better.  I could not even imagine if these things start sounding better in a few weeks, what that might be like.

Congratulations! Very nice build! Thank you for sharing the journey. As far as the 300hrs run in time that is a journey as well, my build went through changes, but it was not linear- good for a short time- ok for a while- good again- great and finally outstanding! This was my experience, mileage may vary.

They look great!

Yes, some of those caps really do take a long time to burn in, and they will change a lot during and after. Just keep them playing 24/7 and they will get there quicker.
