How did you paint your subs?  They almost look like they are sanded and sealed natural from the pick.
They are painted the same color as the Line Forces. Mazda Ceramic Metallic. Jay (captainhemo) had them painted for me before I picked them up.

The 12 OB servo sub modules from Jay are ready for painting.  Should be going next week to the finishing shop.

Dropped off the 12 modules, tops and bases for painting on Friday.

Now the work begins for the paint shop.

All the sub modules are now painted and here.

A low gloss Hot Rod Black color.  They do a great job on finishing!

A picture of the painted 12 OB H-Frame sub modules before servo driver installation.

Now it is time to install the 12 servo drivers and wiring.

Almost two of the Monoliths from 2001: A Space Odyssey when they are stacked as 6x12's :D

Thanks!

They look as good as I had hoped.

Now to get the rest assembled and wired to the servo amps.

And it grows... Have more servo sub modules completed.   :o

Last one for today.  Eight modules complete.

Four more serv sub installs in the cabinets and then time to make the wiring harness to connect the drivers to the servo amps.

The 12 modules are complete.

Time to bolt the two 6x12 stacks together in the locations in the room.

Then on to making the wiring harnesses.

Rich, this is really going to be something!

If you took 4 of these (Doubles) and had them as single units on the floor, left and right, can you attach those thicker flush tops to both sides, where they bolt together?  It's a little tough to make out, but it looks like each modular unit has 2 holes on front / back of woofer sides where they are bolted together.  Can you put 2 of those thicker, flush top caps on each one, so hey look the same? You mentioned earlier the different top cap versions and assume the caps can go on both side of the single modular unit.

What I may do is play with them with stand mount speakers, and have a modular unit on either side of the base of the speaker stand.  I'd like them to look symmetrical rather than just a "disassembled unit of 2".  If there are 4 holes in each, in addition to the flush caps, I could have some feet / spikes go all the way thru the "bottom cap" so I can have a nice setup of each of them being on the floor by themselves.  Of course, if I need a hole... I can drill one.  :D

Hopefully I'm making sense.

jmimac351,

The top and base both bolt onto the modules, so either style fits any module top or bottom.  Makes no difference if they are single modules or 6x12 stacks for the tops and bases.

Another way would be bolt a 2x12 together and add two small tops and put them sideways for a short stand for a speaker.

Just keep the wiring short for the servo amps.

Thanks Rich.  I thought that to be the case but wanted to make sure pics your posting can do that.  I think they look great.

The servo sub module to servo amp wiring harnesses are complete.

Now to assemble the 6x12's servo sub towers for testing.

Rich, with this wiring plugged into 2 units, it would be interesting to see how far apart they could be from one another on the floor.  In other words, getting an idea of how long is too long for servo wires, and what that means for max module spacing.  I wonder if it could be the way you normally wire them up would give me enough spread between them, if I wanted.

Thanks for sharing.

The longest wiring from amp cable to what I want to use is 3.5ft.

Some of these are longer cables, so will be cutting them shorter.  I also use the servo amp wiring from Rythmik Audio connected to the servo amp without cutting it short with a Neutrik Speakon 4-pole connector installed.
