You have built two preamplifiers and they both look awesome.  Are you looking for a specific sound?

I'm pretty happy with my DHT linestage, but I wanted a good backup. I am planning to rebuild portions of the DHT linestage to fix some things I wasn't happy with (not related to the sound), so it will be out of commission for a little while. I have been curious about using inductive attenuation instead of resistive, so thought I'd give this a try.

I've only listened to it for a few hours, but it is sounding pretty good. I think I still like the DHT linestage a bit better, but this TVC linestage sounds quite nice and will make a good backup while my DHT linestage is offline.

I was looking at your system and you have built everything except you DAC correct?  Is that in your future?

I hope to at some point, but I have a few other projects I’m working on that I want to finish first.

Didn't you try out the DSP-Nexus?  How did that turn out if you did?

While on the preamp subject. I just got my new PS Audio PMG Signature preamp today. I took advantage of a trade in for my old BHK preamp. This thing is a significant step up sonically from the BHK preamp.

I really like the look of the new stuff and the internals look impressive.  Are you getting a DAC also?

mkrawcz, nice, enjoy.  :thumb:

I was in Colorado 2 - 3 years ago and took a trip to PS Audio, they did not have this finished yet so have not heard it. If you get a chance to go, I would recommend it, very friendly guys. I got a couple of the records they produced. Paul was in the building but I did not get a chance to meet him as he was busy at the time of my visit.

Let us know what you think of it once you have had a chance to evaluate it.

Will do, this is going to need a couple hundred hours to run with all the huge Jantzen film caps in it. But so far I like what I’m hearing.

mkrawcz, from my personal point of view, I doubt it’s going to take that long to break-in / warm up most things don’t take that long in my experience.

Is it a different sound to your BHK? Don’t forget your BHK is your reference point and what is mainly changing is you getting acclimatise with the sound of the new kit.
It’s like trying a drink or new food, your first taste is oh what is this then by your second taste your taste buds know what to expect and you begin to get a feel for whatever it is, good or bad.
