That's funny. Chokes are the main reason I grabbed a Schiit Mjolnir 3 last week.

Wow I just checked that out for the first time.  Now they just need a DAC with chokes....

Well... this year is starting off with a bang.  Yesterday I secured some 96dB line array speakers.  82 drivers total.  Any guesses what they are?  I should have them soon.

When are we going to see photos? :thumb:

Congrats on the new monsters!!!

Try to find a good push-pull EL84 amp I think you will love the sound of it on those speakers.

Hey, I have a legitimate excuse for a low powered amp!!!!  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

If you’d like an excellent low-powered amp, buy and build up a Nelson Pass-designed Amp Camp amp available as a kit only about $350 from the DIY Audio store. All Class-A and designed by the man himself, “Papa”, Nelson Pass. 8 Wpc.
If you up build two of them for all of about $700, you can run them bridged monos using XLR connections with 15 Wpc output. They sound superb, as you might expect from any amp Nelson designs.

It will be interesting to hear these with different amps... high sensitivity speakers... but a bunch of drivers too.

Schiit is closing out a little "Rekkr" amp with only a few watts.  I got a pair of them recently, figured they would work great for attaching directly to garage speakers, testing stuff... whatever.  I haven't played with them yet but may tomorrow.  They should be handy for testing drivers and it will be a hoot to hookup to these speakers.  They are small little things.

I think these Gjallahorn are interesting too:  https://www.schiit.com/products/gjallarhorn
I had the Rekkr as my office amp for a bit playing the lgk 2.1s. Even at pretty low volumes I just could not get into liking the sound. I actually liked my previous office amp, some Fosi, better.

I now have that Gjallahorn and very happy with that sound.

Thanks Stephen.  Turns out I have a pair of those and they were interesting.  I need to get them listed for sale along with several other things.

Ah, cool. Yes, they are pretty interesting amps, aren't they?

Cheers.

Just got this First Watt F6 up and running and meshes really well with the NX-Oticas. If I had to describe this amps sound it’s sort of blend of the F5 and the M2X. Its got the clarity of the F5 but softened just a touch and the soundstage of the M2. This amp is 30W 8ohms 50W 4ohms and it’s dead quite.

Mkrawcz,
How is mid range/mid bass compared to the F5M?

I haven’t done too much comparing yet, but the mid range seems similar. The F5M is a little more dynamic and has a little more mid bass detail. The F6 has a deeper soundstage.
