There are some audio - centric Linux OSs out there. Daphile and Volumio come to mind, and there are a few others. The two mentioned are easy to install, sound great, and are extensible with a variety of different plugins.

had a hard time with redhat decades ago. now landed on fedora for the sake of decoupling from the big techs at home and centos at work. ever got a purism os phone but it is not suitable for me.
