Nice sunflower. Is that some type of diffraction device?

Very nice room.  My RM30's are set up similarly to that.  Close to the side walls, maybe a little more toe in (I'd like to see a photo of the listening position), and mine are closer to the front wall.  How does it sound?  Are you getting decent bass extension?  Will the Tact produce a graph showing frequency response and can you post it?

i like the colours in the room... though looks like too many hard surfaces for my liking - hows the damping working out?

They are very very good, but a little picky in my opinion. If you are in europe, i would be happy to show them to you  :)

Hey Florian,

WOW!  The room looks great.  I also like your new Avatar.

AMPZILLA????  You have an Ampzilla coming?

No doubt one of, if not the best amp for the VMPS speakers.

Also the color might just fit your room decor.  You know a little blue should look nice with those walls

Florian,

Do you plan on using the Scintillas as mains and the RM30s as surrounds ?

Good as the RM30s are, I'd be surprised if they can approach the performance of the Scintillas, given they are properly functioning and properly driven.  The latter can be a major undertaking although the availability of powerful class D amps is helping.

I don't mean to imply anything negative about the RM30s.  Along with the VMPS siblings they are superb particularly at their price points.  But the Scintilla is a true classic and capable of performance matching anything made today at any price point.

Happy listening :)

Yes i own Apogee Scintilla's and VMPS RM30's !! I traded my Magnepan MG 3.6R/SE for them. I did not want to post them here since it will raise many many questions and i would possibly be missunderstood. So i will just say, that i own both and have good electronics to drive both. I spent as much time finding the best spot for the RM30's as i am going to spend on the Scintilla.

There are only ca. 40 pairs of Scintilla's left and that is the best restored pair in the world. They are 1ohm and have a 74db sensitivity and weigh 231lbs a piece plus a pain to drive. But like it was said many times before, these speakers are a classic and not made anymore and the soon to be "Apogee Classic release from an Australian company will cost aprox. 35000$....

Yeah, those do look cool.

Florian,  I just noticed that your floor and ceiling are "matching".  Even down to (or should I say "up to") having rugs on the ceiling. :o
