I just attached Duelund JDM copper foil bypass caps to the tweeter Sonicap and the effect is instant. The center vocal image became pinpoint, 3d, and real. She is right there.

Awesome! What does the current listening set-up for these look like?

This is the burn in setup. Just stacking them on servo subs is very suboptimal until I get the proper woofer stands. Using a 10 watt Pass Sony VFET amp, Benchmark DAC3L (has dual single ended outs for the sub amps and VFET), Raspberry Pi running Volumio.

You know, I have a lot of amps from best measuring on the planet to really good tube amps, but there is something magical about these Zenductor 2 amps when driving the Superminis.

But how do they M-E-A-S-U-U-U-R-R-E… ? ? ?  :icon_twisted:  :duh:  :deadhorse:

Sorry… I’ve just been reading too many (other) forums and comments about such things lately… 😇

Well, speaking from experience. If someone who owns a Benchmark AHB2 swaps it for the Zenductors, they will want to jump off a building for spending $3500 on it and not $200 for a pair of 10 watt amps.  :D

Get a USB measurement mic from Dayton Audio and REW software for speaker measurements.

Use the mic calibration file in REW to correct for the mic frequency response.  Typically, the 0 deg calibration file is available for use.

Other mics like the Beyerdynamic MM-1 XLR phantom powered mic has both the 0 deg for quasi-anechoic and 90 deg for room measurement calibration files.

I have a Minidsp UMK1 mic and a stand. Haven’t used it with REW yet. But I am going to play around with it. Was going to play around with Audio Weaver and the NexusDSP also.

See now, this approach just seems far more reasonable (to me), find pieces, parts and set-ups that SOUND amazing, and THEN get some measurements to help understand why.

Well these measurements only tell you what the frequency response of the speaker is in your room. Doesn’t tell you anything about how an amp or parts sound through the speaker.
