New member intro
« on: 24 Oct 2023, 08:26 pm »
Hello,
I'm Julie, I live in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I am getting my account here set up because I recently bought an upgrade kit for my Totem Acoustic Rainmakers, hoping it would quell the burn to buy new speakers. Haha. Anyway, I am new to all this, and don't really know anything about building speakers or tearing down and putting back together, so I joined in case I have questions. Which I'm sure I will!!
Thank you in advance!
Julie

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome to AC  :thumb:
Simple OB speakers are the best to an DIYer as this below from an AC member. This is a inexpensive DIY project from a AC member, it have only four(4) parts: Eminence Alpha15A + 4.7mH + Visaton B200 and a MDF baffle.

Bwa ha ha ha ha!  :rotflmao:  Welcome to the common disease known as Audiophilia Nervosa.  Pray tell, do you have a link to this upgrade kit?  If we can get familiar with it, we can answer questions better.  Nice speakers , BTW.

Yup!  That's what we do.  Help fix the broken things.  Tell you how to rearrange your entire living room just for listening to music.  Oh, and we're great at helping you spend your money come upgrade time!

Enjoy!

Welcome to AudioCircle JulieEdwards

I use to have the Totem Acoustic Model 1s.
Vincent Bruzzese CEO Totem Acoustic is a really nice guy, I still see and speak to him every year at Munich High End show.

Did you get your upgrade kit from GR-Research? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akEoy3CD68g

Yes, that is the upgrade kit I have!
I haven't dug in yet because I have to pick up the boards and zip ties, but hope to start the tear down at least tomorrow.
I really don't know anything so bear with me!
Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I'm starting the tear down of my speakers today and am wondering what the heck I've gotten myself into. Hopefully I don't screw it up!!
