Bennic makes many speakers and crossovers in China for many big names, and some small names.  I am fairly certain Revel speakers come off the same line as many others... If I were to hazard a guess, I would guess that the AV123 ELT525T tower speakers I bought several weeks ago off FakeBook marketplace for $150 came from the same place (or a cousin).

As for me, I like my speakers to speak 'Merican.   :thumb:

Pretty much nothing is 100% American now. We've been in a co - dependant global economy for decades. It is what it is.

Yes; however, that wasn't my point.

Re: "Assembly line / cost for what you get"

Still applies..

This is why I like DIY audio.  With DIY I can be 100% sure it was assembled in America.  ie, by me

The point here isn't about where it was made... the conversation was touching on DIY cost / "value" relative to buying a retail speaker.

Your statement is correct - and moot.

Well, parts of me are from Europe!  Not sure about China.  I think my race is pretty much 'mongrel'.  So we end up with a mongrel speaker built by mongrel labor :P

Care to spill a bit more, to add to Hobbes comments in the Wilson thread?

It sounds like someone can't be bothered to write when they're too busy having fun listening.

I'm guessing your first listening party went something like this?

For what it’s worth, when I spoke to Danny this afternoon about my Wilson speaker, he was effusive in praise of the Bully speaker. Raved about it.  He remarked at how well it was imaging with the larger baffle, and 94dB. It sounded like he was surprised about just how well it was imaging.
This is 100% what I was expecting to happen with the Bully vs the Brute. It must be the MTM configuration. In my experience, the NX-Oticas(MTM) have a much more realistic and focused image than the NX-Studios.

Hobbs / Danny

Did you guys try the Brute’s woofer with the Bully’s MTM?

I’m sure the Bully is amazing but I’m just thinking a step in between would make my wallet a little happier.

It’s the same reason I’ve always preferred a pair of X-CS Encores to the X-LS Encore in everything but bass extension.  Since bass extension is what subwoofers are for I’ll take the CS any day.
