I am new to the vinyl scene.  I just got my Pioneer PL-530, I picked up at an estate sale, repaired and working. I found a local tech who was willing to go through it and get everything working properly.  While he had it apart, I took the plinth home, stripped the original peeling vinyl veneer and re-veneered it with real walnut veneer.  The cartridge is an Ortofon 2M Red. Nothing fancy. I’m happy with the way it turned out.  I am currently running it through a Marantz 2252b and some Infinity Qb speakers that were both estate sale finds. I still need to do some work on the cover as it has some cracks and scratches.  In time...
