Actually deserving of the much-overused term 'Iconic'

When I was a kid, Mom always had "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" playing on the Emerson console. That record was worn out.
Tony Bennett never had a bad arrangement of a song, and his best ones will still be played well into the next century.

Sad news. As dB notes, definitely an Iconic presence in the world of 20th century music and beyond. His music will live on. RIP.

I'm thinking of how kind and gracious Lady Gaga was during their collaboration at the end of his career. My father died from complications of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's and I know it's not always easy to deal with dementia. She helped him leave us with dignity and glorious memories, I'll always be a fan of hers because of it.

Tony Bennett was a class act from start to finish. Never had a harsh word for anyone (that I know of) even if they richly deserved it. Missed by many, RIP.
