The Lumin D3 has a nice open, airy and transparent sound.  It is neutral and may lean just a hint to the sunny side.  It has very good detail and resolution.  But it is not cheap at about $2500.  The Blue Sound was muddy in comparison.

And TMR had a D3 come in at a decent price a couple of days ago.  Grab it before I make up my mind and you’ll be doing me a favor.

Just wanted to say thanks everybody.  It’s been a little while since I started this and I’ve learned a few things from all of reply’s and posters here.

edit:  The great dac search is over.  I picked up a Pontus II 12th Anv up.  So I got a Denafrips Athena preamp too, I got a great deal on it.  I was going to get a schiit freya + but I got the Athena for just a little more.

The Athena is interesting, it has an 1 XLR input that bypasses the selector switch.
