IDA-8 has the right balance of everything and no matter how hard we tried, we can't replace it. 
Omnia A300SE has more power than IDA-8 and all-in-one design.  IDA-8 with Omnia Stream Mini does the same thing.

I got mine right when it came out and it is still going strong. I use it on the desktop, but seriously, it could easily be the centerpiece of a main rig. A truly wonderful component.
