Just received the new Bryston BP26DA, which is only 2 days old, but already setting my system on fire (not literally of course

)

It is probably one of the "most quiet" preamps on the planet.

If you need a pre, or if anyone wants to hear it.

I will be bringing a few Volex power cables with me. These are the $5 cables that occam over in the lab has been recommending. I have just "volexed" my entire system and am stunned at the difference they've made. But since I haven't extensively evaluated the Audience, VH, and some of the other well-regarded PCs, I have no perspective on how good the Volex may be.

I propose a "Volex challenge"! I will bring two Volex cables to the Rage and give them away to two people who will give the cables an honest evaluation in comparison to other highly regarded power cables AND post their impressions here on AC (or elsewhere?

).

My motive? Value! I think a lot of us would like to know if a $5 cable can deliver 70%, 80% or maybe even 90% of the performance of some of the premium power cables on the market.

We don't have to take time at the Rage to do this. But I'll have cables there if a few folks are willing to take the challenge.

As is always the case.

Looks like it might call for some "pre-meet" strategy to allow for the "key" comparisons. or auditions. (whatever they might be)

What did people (attending) want to hear?

I, for one, wanted to hear the SP's and the NuForce's.
