Damn sudden, I'm stunned and sad.  Thought I might get to see him live someday.  Should have went when I had a chance.  :duh:

Incredible loss. He was my absolute favorite guitarist.
A true loss of words to describe how much I loved his playing

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

I just saw that, what terrible news.
There was Jeff Beck and then there was everybody else.

Shocked as well. A unique guitarist. My only live exposure was way back when Rod Stewart was the lead singer. RIP

Horrible news. A real loss. By coincidence I've been watching him on  Live at Ronnie Scotts lately. Loved him with the yardbirds and much, much more. Always a powerful, unique voice. No one like him, except Hendrix in his own way.

This is my favorite pic, from a time in my life when they were both ahead by a mile…
I love Jeff’s version of Cobhams “Stratus” on his “Live at Ronnie Scott’s” DVD.

It’s Tommy Bolin’s solo on steroids for sure.

Damn sad way to start a new year. Like many my favorite rock guitarist, but not limited to that genre. His jazz work was every bit as stellar. From Truth to Who Else , always pushing the limits.
Only saw him once on the Wired tour, wish there'd been more opportunities. Your music will live on Sir, Thank You, Rest in Peace.

I saw Jeff Beck on his Blow By Blow tour when he was billed as the headliner but ended going on first before the Mahavishnu Orchestra here in Seattle. he told us that his mother had passed away the night before and he had to catch a flight back to England. He played an amazing set though you could tell he was grieving. Now it's our turn to grieve for the loss of a good man and a superb guitarist.
