Marantz slimline rebuild advice

Hello,
I have a Marantz nr1608 and want to swap out parts for better quality parts. So has anybody rebuilt their receiver.
I have heard of people, installing better quality parts, like transformer, capacitors, and resisters.

I would not waste my time trying to upgrade the Marantz. These cheap receivers are hard to upgrade. When you start trying to replace capacitors in gear like this, there is usually no room for boutique caps that are usually much larger than what you are replacing. Plus, you need the schematics and need to know what you are doing. You are better off just buying a new receiver.
