Sony WH-1000XM5

Got these mainly because they were highly rated for noise cancelling. They do a great job at this in my opinion, but I'm finding it difficult to find info on their range of functions. Maybe the functions are quite limited but one thing that bothers me is every time I laugh or cough they pause the play. This is annoying. Is there a way to stop this function?

Download the Sony Headphone Connect app. I own the x5s and they’re really excellent. I’m wondering if you have some sort of interrupt function activated if it’s doing that weird stuff. Take a look at the app and see if there’s a defeat for that feature.

Pez,
So far I have only used them with my PC. Does the app work for PCs? I'm not sure whether I have downloaded it because I don't see a screen like the one you have illustrated.

Yes, that works for PC, android, Mac, and iphone.  I listen to my Sony's for hours, only on long flights to they hurt my ears...around the 6-8 hour mark.  You can also still verbally command the headphones via Alexa.

There doesn’t appear to be an app for PC for the Sony headphone connect. I would download it to a smartphone, make the changes you need to make on the smartphone while connected to it, then switch back to PC. The settings should remain however you set them once you switch.  :thumb:

Pez and Woodsea,

Thanks for your help. The app does offer downloads for PCs but then doesn't seem to do much except pairing. The suggestion to set the phones up with the phone app seems to have worked. Fingers crossed.

Fingers still crossed?

I hope it worked. I just spent a few days on vacation with the kids at Great Wolf Lodge. An indoor kiddie play park with water slides and all kinds of loud child activities. The XM5s were a lifesaver!
