Pretty good recording of a band that was outstanding to see live. 2 CDs
OoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHhhhhh!!!(ad nauseum).I have to get this. Love that John Cipollina tremolo. There use to be a 2lp boot of the Filmore stuff, "maiden of the Cancer Moon" which was pretty good but the sq was poor and beggars can't be choosers. When QMS stuck to the raga/pysch rock they were great and Cipollina was great but the blues stuff, not so much. Thanks AD!
I'll have to pick that one up, was just listening to their first studio album!!One of my favorites from back in the day. Saw them a few times at the Fillmore West but not until '69
Anybody have this Quicksilver Box? Sound?https://www.amazon.com/Vinyl-Replica-Collection-Boxset-High-Definition/dp/B0154AYCTU/ref=sr_1_5?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1502725794&sr=1-5&keywords=quicksilver+messenger+service
This isn't a recent purchase but I thouught I'd add to the above discussion. I have this 2disc retrospective and the selection and sq is very good. Anyone looking for a QMS refresher or introduction would be well served here. Cipollina's guitar sounds great on this set and perhaps deliberately mixed to sound 'upfront' at least more so than I remember from the original recordings.
