I finally got around to watching this last night.
It's a very well made movie. But even so it was a little bit of a grind for the first half or so. It's a long movie. That's my only complaint. Overall I consider it a good movie and it earned some of the accolades it has received. I say that without having read in depth reasons why people like it, and I'll put some faith that it's the same reasons I did. This movie is something I can talk about with other movie buffs.
If you're wondering about how audiophile it is, well... clearly someone involved had a sort of understanding of audiophiles. To be clear it's WAY BEYOND the average person but still not accurate. I won't spoil it for you, you have to watch the near 3 hours to find out for yourself

I'll save the discussion till more people have had a chance to see it. I don't want to spoil a lot. I will say that an actual professional conductor might laugh at a few moment, it's possible, but hard to say. Recall the movie where JK Simmons is the conductor and the guy with the unrememberable name he should have changed drummed? I suspect that for us laymen we just don't know, but there are some in the know. Luckily even less people are conductors so we probably won't have to listen to them.
