Picked up a Reavon X110
« on: 5 Nov 2022, 09:27 pm »
My Sony Blu Ray player died unexpectedly.  The Reavon line is the only game in town that approaches the Oppo 203/205.  So, ordered the Reavon X110, which is very similar to the Oppo 203.   It plays just about all the formats, including SACD and DVD Audio.  Supposedly has as good or better video section over the 203. No analogue outputs,  and no WiFi.  Since my setup employs a Chord M-Scaler,  which outputs to either a Chord TT2 or Devialet 250 Pro.

Will post observations after spending some time using it.

The Reavon X200 has analogue outputs,  along with a toroidal transformer.

Sorry about the delay in posting.  After spending some time with the X110, can happily report that its an excellent unit.  It does play SACD, DVD Audio, and CD very well.  Supports the latest video formats.  To me, it's easily as good or better than the Oppo 203, as long as one doesn't need analog out.

All in all, quite happy with the unit.

Good to know. OPPO has completely shut down so if my 205 fails, I have an inexpensive alternative for SACD to  my Bryston DAC-3.
