They are 100% bamboo ply, held together with only glue (a point of pride of the manufacturer). Even the ports are all bamboo.

I originally had these set up as a 3.1 TV system.  I later broke them up into a 2 channel stereo bookshelf system and a center plus sub system for the bedroom.

I'll include a BASH 300s subwoofer amp (sells for $200 at partsexpress) with the subwoofer.
