The first "pro" review of VH Audio's Flavor 4 power cable has been published today at onsoundandmusic.com, for those interested. http://www.onsoundandmusic.com/issues/0504/0504-VHAudio.html

Thanks to Jim Merod for his very thoughtful review.

I have four of them powering everything in my 2-channel rig.  I went with the el-cheapo $159 basic flavor-4 as opposed to the super dee duper "gold" version which is what the reviewer used.

Now Chris comes out with the extra super golly jee duper Air Sine at the rediculouosly low price of $699 which is more than I paid for all four of the flavor-4's that Ijust bought.

When does the madness end????

Oh yeah, when my wallet is empty!!!

I am loving the flavor 4's, and hope to try the Gold or Air Sine someday.

Build quality is superb.

I agree with all the good things said about the Flavor 4 cords. I use 2 Flavor 4 (Gold) cords in my system and they perform very well on my Cary transport and Rowland amp. They have a seductive combination of clarity and musicality. :thumb:

But do be aware that once a Flavor 4 cord is made, Chris will not re-terminate the cord (e.g. cut a long cord into shorter lengths). According to him, the process is VERY difficult and it’s easier for him to make a new cord from scratch. Even changing a plug requires a lot of work.

I was quite surprised and a little disappointed to find this out because I recently sold my Rowland 8T amp which uses a 20A socket, and now have a 9’ Flavor 4 cord with a 20A female plug which I am unable to use with anything else. Tough! :?

Nevertheless, I may consider ordering a new Flavor 4 or his latest AirSine cord. Indeed, I feel his power cords are THAT good! :)

Yes, it is very difficult to make a longer cord into 2 shorter cords. The hose must be cut into very carefully without nicking the conductors, and then must be trimmed back. Aside from the time it takes to do this, it is a grueling task on the hands.

I could certainly change to a 15 amp IEC for you- I just can't make the PC into 2 shorter PC's.

I hope you understand that this isn't an issue of whether or not I CAN make this PC into 2 shorter PC's, but rather a cost efficiency issue. It would cost you more to have me do this, than simply selling the PC and using the proceeeds to buy 2 new (or used) ones.

Best,

Chris

As the owner of Flavors 1 and 4 cords I can only agree with the review, they are terrific.  You're a true good guy making great products.  Congratulations on the great review!  Art
