Price: $2600For sale is my Modwright KWA100SE in black. This is a 110 wpc into 8 ohms and 200 watts into 4 ohms amp. It has been highly reviewed and also highly recommended. This is one of those pieces of equipment you sell and then a few months later wonder why you sold it. My reason for the sale is I am simply getting too much equipment, and I am getting old. I want to buy one or two more pieces of expensive gear that I normally would not have ever thought of getting but I am going for the brass ring. In order to keep domestic peace, some items have to go so I am selling off this amp.
This amp has Synergistic Research Black aftermarket fuses installed; about $440 worth at the time of installation.
I have rated this a "9" though it could easily be a "10"; I like to rate my audio pieces conservatively. It has been used in a house where no one smokes and while I have a dog, he has never shown an interest in anything audio so don't worry, he did not play with it.
I have received an email stating that the person was interested but concerned about the performance of the amp because of its age. Well, the amp is not old by a long shot but I will answer that question here. Back in April of this year I noticed that one channel seemed to be not as loud as the other. Hence the amp was shipped to Dan, and he replaced some transistors in the left channel, and examined the right channel as well as going through the whole amp. Dan said that the amp is 100% and like new. So, in essence this amp is only a few months old.
The amp will be double boxed and packed well for shipping. Shipping will be via FedEx Ground and a signature will be required upon delivery. PP accepted but please cover the fees on this as the PP fees would be a real detriment to my final payment. Local sale welcome and I would be willing to drive a reasonable distance to facilitate delivery. Shipping costs based on actual cost to ship. PLEASE! I cannot stress this enough! Shipping rates are incredibly insane! I have received a few inquiries as to shipping costs and by the time I have this double boxed to insure the maximum amount of protection that I can other than a local delivery the shipping costs are not like they once were. I do not mean to talk anyone out of a sale or shoot myself in the foot by being honest but I just want to let people know. I could lower the rates some by not double boxing but that would be a large gamble and one that I do not think is wise. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
I recently had surgery to repair no less than five hernias so I cannot remove the amp from the rack and take photos. I will get a photo of the amp in the equipment rack for now, and once I get the okay from the doc or get someone to help me remove the amp I will take some better photos.
